Question by estofik: What do I put in a Pregnancy Journal and Baby Journal?
I am creating my own pregnancy journal and I just need some opinions on what I should put into it. This journal is also going to used for the baby for the first couple years. If there is anything that you have had in pregnancy journal or what you think would be cool when they get older.

Answer by Aliyah’s mommy! 3 weeks left
Well, I made mine without any of those ‘guidance’ things. I just got a pretty journal and started writing. I’ve been writing since early second trimester and I’ve got 1/3 of the journal complete already.

I write everything from the firsts, doctors appointments, about her family, my dreams and fears for her, and everything I feel. I write about life before her, and how excited I am. I told her about wives tales I was told and her baby shower. ANYTHING!

Anyway, I LOVE to write so it comes easily to me, but you should write what comes to mind! Enjoy!

I am 12 weeks now and still am not sure exactly what I should be writing in my pregnancy journal. What did you put in yours?

Answer by Groovy
I started one, then I got bored with it. I’m not much of a writer. Just put in your thoughts, concerns, happy times, doctor visits, baby movements, tummy growth…if its online, you can post ultrasounds, tummy pictures, etc.

Losing Weight After Pregnancy: a Serious Challenge

By avoiding TV watching and trans fats, and by walking, new mothers can get rid of the extra pounds they gained during the pregnancy, showed a new study lead by Emily Oken of Harvard Medical School. Some women don’t lose all the weight gained during pregnancy after the baby is born, especially weight accumulated around the abdomen. This type of weight gain may be risky for women’s health.

More than 900 women were asked to participate in this study. Researchers attempted to find out which behaviors were associated with gaining weight after pregnancy. Six months after the women’s childbirths, they reported how much time they have been physically active and have spent watching TV, and filled out a diet questionnaire. One year later the average weight was still 2.2 pounds more than before the participants’ pregnancy, and twelve percent of them retained at least eleven pounds.

Researchers found that one extra hour of watching TV each day means for women a twenty-four percent higher risk of retaining eleven extra pounds. Every hour women walk daily lowered by thirty-three percent the risk of keeping the extra eleven pounds following birth.
